Le Chef

Jean Reno plays a veteran chef in this French gastronomic comedy, facing off against his restaurant's CEO who wants to bring in a younger replacement.

"Jacky (Michaël Youn) is an aficionado of haute cuisine... self-taught, very talented but stubborn. Star chef Alexandre Lagarde (Reno) is in serious conflict with Stanislas Matter (Julien Boisselier), the new CEO of the group that owns his restaurant. Matter is plotting to have him lose one Michelin star in the next edition of the Guide, and therefore replace him with a young 'modern' chef who advocates a chemical, molecular cuisine. Matter begins by laying off members of Alexandre Lagarde’s team, one by one. Worse yet, Lagarde has run out of ideas... as luck would have it, he meets Jacky." (Berlin Film Festival 2011)
